Luochuan Ruixue is an apple variety grown in Shaanxi, China — crisp and sweet when the fruit hangs heavy on the branch. It smells not of a single apple but of a whole tree, a whole orchard picked at once, as if your home had become an apple cellar. First comes the crisp scent of the skin; hold it close and it's like breathing in a real apple, its sweet juiciness rising from the core.
